New York State GIS
Clearinghouse:
The Clearinghouse,
operated by the New York State Office for Technology, was
established to disseminate information about New York's Statewide
GIS Coordination Program and to provide access to the New York State
GIS Metadata and Data Repository.
Originally developed as part of the Center for Technology in Government's GIS Cooperative Project, the Metadata Repository was created to provide one central location where State agencies and local governments can list the GIS data sets that they have. GIS users can browse the list, or search for specific keywords, to find out what data is available, who holds it, and how it can be obtained. In some cases, users will be able to go one step further, and download the actual data set.
In addition to these primary functions, the Clearinghouse provides information on and links to GIS education and training opportunities; other state and Federal GIS resources, including downloadable data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the USGS; GIS user groups throughout New York; and GIS-related listservs.
New York State GIS Repository at Cornell University
http://cugir.mannlib.cornell.edu
CUGIR is an active online repository providing geospatial data and metadata for New York State, with special emphasis on those natural features relevant to agriculture, ecology, natural resources, and human-environment interactions. Subjects such as landforms and topography, soils, hydrology, environmental hazards, agricultural activities, wildlife and natural resource management are appropriate for inclusion in CUGIR. All data files are cataloged in accordance with FGDC standards and made available in widely used geospatial data formats.

New
Jersey Spatial Data Clearinghouse:
The
clearinghouse is operated by the NJ Office of Geographic Information
Systems. The goal of this site is to provide New Jersey citizens and
the GIS community with a comprehensive site to find and share GIS
information, spatial data, interactive mapping applications and
resources. The NJ Spatial Data Clearinghouse is part of a national
network of spatial resources that comprises the National Spatial
Data Infrastructure (NSDI). We hope the use of this site will
promote communication among users, encourage data development
partnerships, eliminate the duplication of data sets, and promote
the utility of GIS and spatial data as decision support tools.

New Jersey DEP GIS Web Page:
The mission of the Geographic Information System is to support and improve environmental management decisions throughout the DEP by:
- facilitating integration of information and providing spatial analysis through GIS technology
- simultaneously enhancing productivity and achieving cost savings
- assisting departmental efforts to achieve cross media environmental protection, enhancing cross program information sharing and communication, and communicating effectively with the public by providing access to GIS tools and high quality geographic data
- playing a key role in DEP efforts to integrate information resources, and in the development of an Environmental Master Plan
- encouraging the establishment of a statewide network of public and private sector GIS partners to assist local planning, encourage data sharing, and broaden the base for data development.
Pennsylvannia Spatal Data
Access (PASDA):
The Pennsylvania Spatial Data Access system (PASDA) is Pennsylvania's official geospatial information clearinghouse and the Commonwealth's node on the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI). The PASDA clearinghouse provides for the widespread sharing of geospatial data, eliminates the creation of redundant data sets, and serves as a resource for locating data throughout the Commonwealth through its data storage, interactive mapping/webgis applications, and metadata/documentation efforts.
